Join us for a Friday night on the trails!

On Friday, May 31, Trials of Miles and Kilgore Racing are hosting a special afternoon/evening of trail racing in the Palisades Interstate Park. The event will feature four race distances (5k, 10k, Half Marathon, and 50k) with all of the races wrapping up around sunset at the Ross Dock Picnic area. Following the races, our friends at Red Bull will be hosting an epic afterparty along the river with music, drinks, food, and skyline views! There will also be a special recovery zone presented by Cheribundi, and all runners will receive NYC Trail Fest hats at the finish line.

This is a can’t miss event for any trail lover in the New York City area, or anyone looking to dip their toes into the world of trail racing for the first time. More information on the schedule and race courses can be found below. We hope you consider spending a Friday night with us out on the trails!

NYC Trail Fest RACES

A Different Kind of Race Experience

As many of you will recognize, this is the same trail system where we've previously hosted the Hudson River 50. However, after the cancellation of this year's event (due to storm risks and course flooding), we decided to step back and rethink how we could show off these trails and put on a race that felt unique to the NYC running community. One of the things that makes this trail system so special is it's proximity to NYC (the starting line is literally just over the GW Bridge) and we figured there's no better time to get people to experience them than a Friday night at the start of the summer. We also have created four new race courses, with four new race distances, to ensure that there is a space for everyone at the NYC Trail Fest.

  • Registration is live on UltraSignup. Visit the link at the top of the page!

  • The trails feature a variety of surfaces types, primarily rocky semi-technical singletrack mixed with more smooth dirt singletrack. The courses are generally runnable, with some twists and turns, hills of various sizes, and some rocky technical sections. There are also some extended, intermittent sections of road and paved paths that connect some trail segments. Full course details can be found on each of the specific race pages linked above.

  • Yes! All registered athletes will get a “NYC Trail Fest” Hat with the event logo as well as an NYC Trail Fest Tote bag. There will also be customized finishers medals, and lots of food and drink options at the RedBull post-race party!

  • The Ross Dock Picnic area is located in Fort Lee, NJ just off the GWB. You can drive and park, or you can take one of our charters from Manhattan. You can sign up for the charter bus when you sign up for the event on UltraSignup.

  • As the sun sets on the trails, the fun doesn't stop at the finish line. Wind down and fuel up with a variety of delicious bites from our food vendors, sip on refreshing drinks, and let loose to the beats spun by our DJ's. It's a perfect way to celebrate your race accomplishments with the most breathtaking NYC sunset views.

Race for the River

We are very excited to have Riverkeeper as an official NYC Trail Fest race partner, and will be donating a portion of race proceeds to the organization. For those of you not familiar with Riverkeeper, it’s an environmental organization tasked with protecting the Hudson River and the watersheds that provide NYC with its drinking water. Considering the importance of the river to this event, and the park in which the race takes place, the partnership is a natural fit.
